“Rat girl”

By creating a rat–human hybrid creature, I’m trying to present the uneasy feeling of living in systems that were never built for her—or for me. The rat reflects surviving within dominant systems where you’re present but not fully accepted, while the human side holds the tension of moving through patriarchy, capitalism, and rigid expectations. This piece is about living at the margins while, and still choosing to exist in your own way.
